Hi all,
I just got in from working at the What About You Walk here in Ann Arbor. The event brought together a lot of different organizations concerned with kids with disabilities. I worked with the Autism Alliance. The Autism Alliance is about 1 and a half years old and they are trying to get all the Michigan organizations for autism to group together. I worked at the art table in Autism Alliance's booth . I was hoping to interact with kids but there wasn't really much traffic that way. I did gain a lot of insight talking with other volunteers both from our booth and the other organizations that were there. I plan to look into an organization called FAR in Birmingham. A woman from the Autism Alliance explained that they are about all the expressive therapies: art, music, dance, and drama. They apparently work with kids with many different types of disabilities. I thought it sounded interesting.
